Subscription Based Services: A Key to the Future!

Posted by Matt Grills, myITsource 19-12-2019 10:36 AM

Success comes with objectives! In order to stay on top, one must meet, exceed, re-evaluate and delete those objectives. We’ve seen Microsoft set some spectacular objectives for the technology space this past year with significant ramifications for the business world. They have set the end of Windows 7 support for January 2020 and increased focus on transitioning to O365 as a subscription model replacement for traditional Office solutions. That move is fundamentally changing the way organizations access mission critical productivity solutions. Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, moved to an O365 subscription for the entire campus and this is just one large organization making the switch among many. Objectives will continue to change and it’s crucial to find partnerships that will help with those changes.

Following the trend!
Other companies have utilized subscription models for a long time, such as AutoCAD, antivirus, and Netflix. Even the milkman in the 1940’s had figured out that subscriptions are a great way to distribute products and manage clients. Subscription models may not be radical, but the potential to expand based on these models has never been greater. Managed Service Providers (MSP’s) have known for some time that their services are required to navigate changes in goals. Modern MSP’s with their finger on the pulse of IT recognize just how important it is to understand the business objectives of their clients, and the capabilities of manufacturers and software developers. MSP’s are not only able to clearly demonstrate benefits of solutions, they can also make recommendations that are a good fit for your business.

Finding the best option
Whether it’s G Suite or O365, ESET or Webroot, the answer lies with your local MSP! It’s what we are trained to do, it’s our passion and our job. Let us help! Millenium Micro provides excellent web resources to help you find an affiliate near you who can start a conversation, rather than a sales pitch. A conversation about what you need, what you want, and the path to take will result in the most actionable and mutually beneficial solutions for all parties. Business does not occur in a vacuum, it’s up to us to work together to make your vision a feasible reality. Find an MSP that makes your business their business, and you’ll find a partner who sees your successes as their own.

Advice
Do you have an update currently scheduled with your MSP? A yearly review helps future proof your organization against the pitfalls of aging equipment and policies! Whether you’re updating from Windows 7 or trying to make that server 2012 application last another year, your MSP will be there to help!
