Choosing a Different Way to Print

The best choice is not to print. Many of us may be printing less, but billions of pages are printed globally every day. If we are going to print, there are exciting “back to the future” methods that will improve the health of your office, are more environmentally sustainable and in most cases will cost you less.
Office printing has not changed very much in 20 years. The dominant technology is laser and while equipment manufacturers have refined their technology to be more efficient and economical, it is still the same technology. An image is transferred via a drum(s) to paper and then heat is used to fuse the plastic (toner) on paper. Every Manufacturer that produces laser printer technology has a great environmental story to tell. All have refined processes, utilize recyclable materials and drive efficiency. When you print in your office, a laser print is still a laser print and today, it is not the only way to print.
Relegated to home use for many years, inkjet technology has been relatively inexpensive to purchase and easy to use. Cost of operation and reliability has limited its use in the office. Today, business ink to paper technology is gaining traction in the marketplace. The equipment works as efficiently and economically as most laser devises. Considering that 98% of all documents printed in an office are ultimately recycled or filed, why not explore technology that can positively impact the environment, your health and wallet.
Epson’s line of business inkjet devices use a heat free process that delivers the same print you would produce on a laser device. Removing the heat, reduces power consumption and the release of particulates into the air.
Overall waste is greatly reduced. The devices are instantly on and off with no warm up period required. Aside from ink and in some cases a waste ink receptacle, consumables common with laser devices including fusers, drums, transfer belts, image units, toner containers and waste toner containers are not required. Fewer consumables reduce points of potential breakdown and need for service.
It is possible to improve the health of your office, reduce your impact on the environment and save money. It is as easy as replacing a laser device with an Epson business inkjet device.
